ELEMENTARY
The Elementary program is for children ages 6 to 12. Children with prior Montessori experience may enter at any age. Classes are 5 days per week, 8:45 AM to 3:15 PM.
The Montessori Elementary Program seeks to instill within the child a respect for all life and an understanding of their unique place and purpose in the world. As their reasoning skills develop and understanding progresses to the abstract, and local to global, the students are challenged to imagine life from other perspectives. The development of research skills, critical thinking and logical analysis skills, provide a solid foundation for lifelong learning. This occurs in a classroom context of social interaction that promotes successful collaboration skills and an environment where the compassion of children for each other is exercised.
New students have completed the full Primary Montessori program and exhibit emotional, social and academic readiness. Physical education and music instruction are integral aspects of the program. After school activities are available in Drama, Chess, Dance and Foreign Language.
