October 11, 2012 – Webster Montessori School (WMS) celebrated the groundbreaking ceremony of the new expansion to their school located at 1310 Five Mile Line Road in Webster, NY, slated for completion in September 2013.
Guest speakers included NY State Assemblyman Mark Johns, the Honorable Judge Scott Odorisi, and Nichols Construction Team CEO, John Nichols. President of the WMS Board of Trustees, Garland Nichols, and Head of School, Jacqueline Griebel, represented the school.
WMS is known for extraordinary faculty, creative programming, and is highly regarded for decades of success in providing children’s education.
The expansion of the school will ensure that future generations of children will get to experience the joy of learning and the opportunity to reach their highest potential – through the Montessori education philosophy.
Webster Montessori School currently enjoys an enrollment of more than one hundred children who are between the ages of eighteen months and twelve years. The current school building is nearing capacity and, after the removal of two temporary classrooms, must be expanded to accommodate continued growth.
Architectural plans will effectively double the size of the existing school. After all phases of the project are completed, the school will be able to accommodate more students, provide better physical educational spaces, and an expanded educational program including higher grade level classrooms.
Head of School, Jacqueline Griebel, stated, “It was such a pleasure to celebrate this groundbreaking with the community. We are grateful for all of the support! For us, this is more than just a building. This is our school’s vision come to life and a bright future for the many children and families that are a part of Webster Montessori School now and to come.”
Expansion construction is under the management of Nichols Construction Team and is being funded through the school’s existing reserved funding and a capital campaign effort, The Center for Excellence Campaign.
