We discovered that education is not something which the teacher does, but that it is a natural process which develops spontaneously in the human being.
— Dr Maria Montessori

Circumstances previously unimagined and entirely out of our control have led Webster Montessori School to embark on a period of At Home Learning.  “Montessori” is not simply a method of education, but a way of life and in many aspects suited to a set of experiences that can be completed in any setting.

There are numerous approaches to support At Home Learning for your own children and create a culture of learning.  Each family must determine what they can best implement for their unique set of circumstances.  Children will follow the confident lead of their families and appreciate added time together.  Whatever you choose to do is a gift to your children, guided by WMS, and shared with love.

Your child’s directress might suggest Zoom meetings - an internet-based way to meet with you and your child - during the school building closure. Simply download Zoom to participate.
