Garland Nichols, Parent Alumni

“The Nichols family started WMS in the Fall of 2008, with daughters in Primary and Toddler classrooms. Jasmine and Lauren, respectively have enjoyed the warm community, great teachers and staff, and awesome learning environment all the way through 5th grade in the Elementary Classrooms.  You can say, once we experienced the "kids teach parents night", we were hooked!  The learning environment fostered independence and life skills for the girls, and to this day, the fond memories of science fairs, preparing snacks, holiday tea & talent shows, and the maple syrup field trip were among the favorites.  I also was very involved as a parent, from board member to board president, enabling the school expansion project.  I believe involvement is a good way to meet others, learn more about Montessori, and support your child's experiences at this young age.

The girl's learning experience fostered them to not be afraid to ask questions, participate with others, and be kind and gracious.  Academically, when they transitioned to Middle School, it was seamless and they were very well prepared.  Our oldest, Jasmine, during her high school summers, volunteered and was employed as a summer camp counselor at WMS.

Many cherished memories at WMS for our family.  An education and environment that was nurturing, diverse and inclusive for our girls as well as a connection with many parents throughout our WMS journey. We highly recommend WMS to anyone!”
