Christine Vargas - Current Family

“In the fall of 2001, our oldest son Hector started as a Primary student when Webster Montessori School operated out of an old elementary school on Ebner Drive in the town of Webster.  We knew little about Montessori other than it allowed children to learn at their pace in a very tailored, hands-on environment.   Our plan was to take things a year at a time, which we did.  Our son Antonio started in the very first Toddler classroom in the fall of 2002.  We were blessed with a third son who would follow in the footsteps of his brothers when he enrolled in 2006.  Fast forward, and in 2022, twenty-one consecutive years later, our daughter Giovanna will graduate as a six grader as an Upper Elementary student. All making conscious decisions to send our children to WMS one year at a time.

Having served twice on the Board of Trustees, there is a lot of history I’ve witnessed over the years.  Our family has come to know many families who have enrolled their children who are now grown.  When I was on the Board, one of the many things I did was to help facilitate several Annual Giving Campaigns.  Our focus back then, was similar to our focus now, and that was to build a foundation for the future.  So many of the families that came before have given to help the school continue to develop and grow. Our very first annual giving campaign allowed us to put skylights into the second-floor classroom spaces. We named the campaign “Here comes the Sun”.  There were many more successful campaigns that came after this one.  Due to the generosity of past families, what was given in past years has become part of today’s foundation that today’s students can enjoy.

Won’t you join me in contributing to this year’s annual giving campaign. This is an opportunity to say thank you to those who came before, help those that are here today, and pay it forward to those children who have yet to experience the great education opportunities available here at Webster Montessori School.”
